SSMS ToolKit (SSMS Add-In/Extension)

The SSMS ToolKit is an extension (formerly referred to AddIn),for SQL Server Management Studio 21 (SSMS). Since SSMS 21 is still in beta (Preview) so is SSMS ToolKit, the plan is to release on or about the same time as SSMS.

SSMS ToolKit is a collection of tools that are designed to make the life of a SQL Server DBA or Developer easier. The tools are designed to be used in a production environment and are not just for development.

A few features on the list

• Upon connection to a SQL Server, checks to verify if there are patch/CUs available for that SQL Server's version
• In the Query Window, convert --comments to /* comments */
• In the Text Results Window, surround "Completion Time:" with /* */
• In the Text Results Window, surround "(xx Rows Affected)" with /* */
• Sort (Alphabetically) the SQL Server connections in the Object Explorer
• Check/Warn for Open Transactions in a Query Window
• In the Grid Results Window, Right align numeric values (Int, BigInt, Money, etc)
• Automatically open a Query Window upon connection
• Collection of useful/helpful TSQL scripts
• Execute All Open Query Windows
• Re-Execute Query Windows ever x seconds, x times
